Nothing. Which is sad. I haven't got any books to read and can't find any new ones. So I have to read my Donald Duck comics I think.

There, there Ass, I'm sure you will find some books soon.

I'm kind of between books at the moment. I'm just reading a random chapter out of Brisingr here and there and half way through one of the Harry Potter books- again. I just finished reading Dracula and Frankenstein and am currently looking for new material.

I just finished Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks and I'm really glad I read it. It was good in my opinion. SParks never fails to capture his readers emotions... for me anyway. :]

*chuckles*

It's a really, really, really good series, actually. I'm planning on writing a review of the series up to book 5 or 6 on FL here shortly.

Hilarious.

Giorgia Nelle wrote:
Wuthering heights? Is that by Daniel Steel or not, Sam? I've heard that book before but haven't really had time to read it...

Lol! Danielle Steel you mean? Isn't she a modern writer? I read something by her called To Love Again...I think. Anyway, no. Wuthering Heights is by one of the Bronte sisters. Emily to be precise, but to me all their books are the same. Alright, maybe that isn't fair. Wuthering Heights is actually a rather good.

Fallen Angel wrote:

Isn't that one of those vampire books? Got a friend who adores anything vampirical so I think the one called Chosen is from a series where they spell vampire as vampyre. Might be wrong though. Though now that I'm on the subject of those books, anything modern that is a combinatiion of romantic/vampire, may I please say EWWW. How people can get that sort of drivel published I'll never know. Sorry CC, no offence intended girl, those books are just unbearable for me.

Anyway, what am I on about that for?
So I just finished Anna Karenina. Read it across three days though I really wish I had, had just a few hours one day to sit and read it all, but I silly as I am, started reading at the wrong time. :S Regret it a little, books of that brilliance or so much better to sit and absorb without interrupting you thoughts. BUt can't do anything about that now. Anyhow, I seem to love the Russian authors more with every book of theirs I come across though. So much more captivating, better written, so much more beautifully told, everything about them is just in a different level to the Americans, English and French from the same time.
Though sadly I think so of the wonderful content still remains lost in translation. But the only solution for that of course is to take up learning Russian. Ohnoes!

It certainly is brilliant, hope you carry on enjoying it.
As for The Lost World, I read the original by Conan Doyle which wasn't bad, not sure how much Crichton's would differ, probably got an altogether separate plot and style of writing though.

A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry

Such a brilliant book, so well written and allows you to completely immerse yourself in it. The way the plot is woven and the telling spans the life of each character, the way he has built the connections and has shown the world is all so wonderful. It is just such an good book.

Moving onto a book entitled 'Notes on a Scandal' by Zoe Heller. Came with many good recommendations and what I've read so far is pretty decent.

The Alex Rider series are pretty good.
I'm not reading anything at the moment, but I'm waiting for a book to come that I have ordered.

I'm reading a book that translates to "Men who hates women".

I also read a bit in a big old book called the Bible that my sister got and I thought I'd take a look at. To get a better understanding and all that.
