The movie that least followed a book in all time.

I want to Pervert someone!

It was terrible!

Post your arguments, complaints, compliments if findable, and other stuff involving that... thing here.

Okay, if a person would ask me how was the movie, there is only one word that I can tell them:
Bearable. Yeah, I know many hates it especially those who have read the book but I still think it's worth watching, though, I would only recommend that for kids.

I have lots of complains though even if I said it was bearable. First, Arya supposed to have pointy ears?!!! Also, what happened to her hair?!! It was supposed to be black! And what's with the urgals? They were like humans not a unearthly creature they were supposed to be! Heh, I could go on and on but complains won't change anything at all. No

They cut off so many good parts of the book...And what's with Arya's reddish hair??? I mean damn...What the heck? I doubt there's going to be an Eldest movie...They didn't make enough money.

I actually liked the actor that played Brom but other than that...

One thing that made me really Evil or Very Mad was that the Elves did not even have pointed ears that is how freakin cheap the movie is and that ridiculous thing supposed to be Farthen Dur was a joke, I mean the mountain was supposed to be ten miles high and they show Durza marching over the top. DDDDDDDDUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM movie Yuck!

They can't make Eldest without mangling the storyline up even more, as I recall the Ra'zac died in the... THIRD book? the thing is a travesty and only watchable for (some of) the special effects, which are okay. The storyline is stunted and jumpy, the characters are NOT how I expected them and Saphira was too... chunky. All in all it's a passable piece of cinematography but an awful movie, you can't just grab a book and throw your own ideas into it... unless you are, of course, the writer. They also tried too hard for the "Epic" line with overly dramatic angles and terrible camera handling. I may have enjoyed it more had I not read the book, but as it stands I could probably do a better job of making Eragon into a film. At least I'd remain true to the storyline, hmm?

True. You only divert from the storyline if there is any need, otherwise no reason to put a stress on brain cells that you don't have. The story, as it has been portrayed by CP is good enough, without much glaringly obvious faults. To discard something that is originally good seems meaningless. Now if it was the case like with LOTR where Tolkien's reasons and storyline was spread not just through the trilogy, but also in other connecting books, then you'd understand the need to modify the actual story a bit, because otherwise you are going to leave gaping holes. In Eragon's case though, it was a total waste...

I'd have to say, based with the book the movie sucked monkey nuts. Hard.

As a movie, with no ties to the series, it was good. You need an open mind for it, though.

As a movie on its own it was alright but it had a lot of faults. It sucked big time. What idiot directed it? They could have at least kept to the story line and portrayed the characters better.

My thought the Movie was good.

However I'd rather have seen the storyline followed a bit better, and for them to do what they did to it................

While movie is good, BOOK IS AWESOME!

Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus. I mean, movie on its own = Not bad. Movie with book = WTF!?

I mean, yeah, Arya with red hair....in a dress...
Saphira grows up in seconds...
Brom doesn't die correctly...
No dwarves...
They kill the Ra'zac....
The Ra'zac were like bug people...
Need I continue?

Only decent character was Brom.
But an eldest film? Not possible, firstly the Ra'zac should attack Carvahal in book 2 (Ra'zac are dead, Roran AND Catrina have left so no reason for him to come back)

Saphira growing up in one flight? it was supposed to take months, I also didnt like Angela. They didn't get her personality at all. Also No Cat-I-have-forgotten-the-name-of.

Hmm lets see.

Follow the stroy line: Fail.
Keep in correct characters: Fail.
Decent acting: Fail.
Special effects. Good.
Time line: What time line?

Katrina, btw.
And Solumbum, Spelling may be wrong however.

And correct. They screwed up this film so much they couldn't make an Eldest film.

And yes, Saphira growing up was retardate. And Angela not only had the wrong personality and such, she looked waaaay off.

Although, I have no problem with Edward Speelers being Eragon in the film. He seemed to fit the lead character. Well, for me.

Oh, I agree that he did good with it, but I just don't think the way they set up the character was good.

I AGREE!!! I really liked the guy who played Brom, but I am not sure if he fit the part exactly as he should've appearance wise. the guy who played Eragon was pretty good I thought, and possibly the guy who played Murtagh. The Angela part was a complete DISASTER, she was not even in the right city and Solembum was not there. FAILURE. the Saphira thing was hilarious, in the worst possible way. and Farthen Dur was a big joke-or little considering it was little more than a glorified hollow hill. and Durza... *rolls eyes* The Ra'zac were dumb looking and are dead now so yea they hacked this story to bits.

Durza was Rolling Eyes, yes.

The Ra'zac are dead, yes.

No Solembum and his prophesy words, yes.

Angela was a disaster, yes.

Eragon looks wise was fine, but as I already said I think they wrote his character a little off.

Brom was good. Really good, imo. I mean, sure he didn't look like the Brom described in Eragon, but he looked just as I had originally imagined him before I reread Eragon. I managed, on my first reading, to somehow skip over Brom's description in the book.

And Farthen Dur was just a Valley in the movie, basically. Not inside a mountain or anything. BULLSH*T ALERT!
