Judaism is similar to Christianity, I know that much. I don't know much else though. Basically this thread is for you to talk about Jewdism and if you want, the differences between it and Christianity.

I always wonder what are the things that makes Jewedism different from Christianity. I mean, Moses was a jew and he believed in Jesus. I am confused. Can you please explain? :D

From my understanding, Jews believe that Jesus hasn't risen from the dead yet or something like that. There isn't a huge difference, and I've never really heard much about it...so I can't really explain it too well.

I'm Jewish so let me give you the differences:

1. We have the Torah which you guys call your old testament

2. You guys got the new testament and we don't

So to make a long story short you guys believe the messiah already came
and passed (JC) but we believe that the messiah will one day come and bring world
peace. So basically Jews and other people who believed JC was the messiah they turned
christian and then other forms of that religion branched off into Catholics and other people.

The big confusion that people get mixed up is that Judaism has been
around much longer then Christianity and it hasn't changed for over thousands
of years. So yes there is a HUGE difference between the two religions. It doesn't
seem like much but trust me the info i just gave is barely nothing

By the way you spelled Judaism wrong. Its not Jewdism but Judaism.

So then Jesus Christ is not your messiah?

Exactly. We believe when the messiah comes there will be world peace
and every creature (yes this means people too) will be at peace with one another.

I see. It makes sense in a way. But then whom do you worship now?

That makes sense. Much more different than I thought.

This to me seems very similar to what is spoken of in Revelations (last chapter of the Bible). Of what will happen when Christ one day returns to Earth.

Their God simply enough. The same god the Christians worship, but without the addition of Christ.

Yes there are a multitude of differences. What I am curious about though is this: If the Christians believe in the same beginnings as Jews, then sure Christianity hasn't been a religion in itself for as long as Judaism, but it is rooted in the same place, so would that not in a way make it just as old? As I said, I get that it has not been practised for close to as long, but as far as I am aware both faiths maintain the similar beginings to the world, and you said the Torah is the equivalent of the Old Testament.

Couldn't you take from it the fact that Christianity began as Judaism, and just developed differently?

Seeing though you haven't posted in a long time I get the feeling my question will go wholly unanswered...
Perhaps someone else out there may proffer a suggestion on the matter though.
