Well someone was bound to make this sometime, so I decided to take the plunge. The thread to talk about the Percy Jackson books. What did you think of them? Which ones did you like? Anything and everything related to the series is taken in over here.

My own opinion: They made a decent read, especially books 2, 3, and 4; but there were many disappointing things like I've said before which include the unsatisfactory way in which the gods were portrayed (I expected something cooler), and the fact that the last book wasn't very great. The theme was good though, and the books are certainly worth reading, especially if you are interested in Greek Mythology...

O.o Gosh Artrain you sound so old when you say that. Ok anyway..me liked it!! Though for some reason not book 4, maybe cause Annabeth wasnt in there a lot. Anyways I found it actually cool how he made the gods act that way, it can be somewhat annoying then cool.

That is my all time favorite series with ease. I love greek myth so the books really were something i liked in that aspect. I liked how the wars and battles were written and the whole story with annebeth and percy with their parents being who they were.

I actually liked this series alot, but I agree with Artrain...the last book wasnt even close to the bar the other books has set, and the portrayal of the gods in my opinion was a bit...poor. But overall, I loved every word in this series.

P.S. im also a fan of Greek Mythology

Yeah, especially Hades for me. I wanted someone cooler. Oh well...

I've read it the first time after seeing the film (didn't really like it... Sad )
Why? I heard that the film is based on books and wanted to read them, so I purchased them (the last 2 ones and the Demigod Files in English) and have already read them all a few times...

In my opinion the second one is the worst one and the portrayal of the people (espacially the gods) is different in the first book...I mean read how Percy talks to his father in the end and how they talk to him...in the next books they are all more...relaxed Smile
I just want the sequel to come out...The Heroes of Olympus, I believe Smile

I just know that Percy isn't the protagonist anymore, there's a new generation of demigods. He's more like the hero person that comes here and there and gives advice, I believe ;)

Try out this site, I believe there's something 'bout it, too.
Oh, and do you know about his new series, the Kane Chronicles? I haven't read them yet, but I hope I am able to.
