PostSubject: Good old NES   Sun Dec 26, 2010 4:54 pm

This is undoubtedly my favorite platform of all time, the buttons were simple A,B and a control pad. The games were fun with old ones like zelda, mario bros, punchout and even mega man. They were all challenging and fun and some like zelda even when you think you have the game beat it comes out and says nope not done yet and you have a whole nother quest to do.

What do you all think of the NES and what are you favorite games for it?

My favorites are listed above lol although there are many more that i like.

Does anyone still have a working one that they play besides me?

I used to play the NES and SNES a lot when I was younger. I loved the Mario games for it, completely reinvented gaming. And then there's the Zelda games, epic. I personally like a lot of newer games more, but I can't deny that the old Nes SNES, N64, and such had some really great games. Games that I can still enjoy today (usually).

Yep. Except the first, never played that one. The rest of them I did, tho with varying degrees of difficulty and time.

The second quest was a killer to get right away cause everything was different, but eventually you can figure out how to get the white sword before the first level and then its easy.

I was never able to beat the second one though cause it doesnt work anymore Sad

Yeah, the second one was pretty nasty, imo. But I'd have to say they were still fun. The challenge is part of what makes it so awesome.

Yeah, todays games hold little of the challenges the old generations faced.

Well, I think that depends upon the game, really.

That challenge and the simplicity of task, meaning you always knew what you had to do even though you might not know where something is or how to do/get something. That is what makes the game great, when there is the perfect balence between simplicity and challenging complexity.

Yep. Which those old games were best at doing. The new games of today aren't quite so good at doing that.

I think it depends on your tastes. I mean, I still play all the old school games I have, but I still really enjoy the newer ones and old-new ones.

Lol, I didn't play a whole lotta games on the NES or SNES. But Zelda games were my favorite.

Yeah Zelda games probably had the most funding so that's probably why they're so good.
