The Darkspawn horde that was attacking the castle was vast. The Commander had almost never seen them in these numbers, and apparently so coordinated.

Drawing his blade, named the меч Двойственность (Translates to "Sword of Duality"), the Commander readied himself and his stance, preparing for the rush of battle.

The Darkspawn were about to break through the outer barriers.

When they stopped going down they came to a trap door, opening it the four wardens slipped through and out to behind the army...

Mathayus grunted, "Darkspawn are seldom seen in such large numbers."

Mark the seer (random chatty warden) replied earnestly, "The key to the success of this venture is to find the being keep the army co-ordinated and to destract him long enough for the army to fall apart and for the First Warden to Sally forth and crush them.

"Aye" Mathayus said with grim determination in his voice, "let us head for that knoll behind the army so we may have a better look for the focal point of the army."

The Commander thought for a few.

"We shall need to hold off the army of Darkspawn for an unknown amount of time." he ordered out. "At some point their commander will be fleshed out, and killed or captured or distracted. When that time comes, we shall prevail and destroy these beasts!"

The others arrived on time. They settled into the rooms they had been given. The crew seemed somewhat afraid of them. Hardly surprising. Humans could be such cowards when faced with those more powerful then themselves.

The ship left Denerim not half an hour later. Just as the sun was setting on the horizon. The Architect looked at the city as they left port. The capital of Ferelden was damaged, gray smoke still rose above the city. But the fires were gone and the horde had been crushed. But The Architect knew the victory would be short lived.

Tevinter was a long journey away. So he decided to experiment for a while. It would relive stress if nothing else.

The Commander glanced around at the Grey Warden assembled around him. Some of them might die....but they would die eventually anyways, with this life span limit.

How could that be combated? How could they live longer? How could these Blights be stopped? The questions just piled up inside of the Commander.

And when they all combined for the first time ever, collided in the center of the Commander's being, something snapped.

Rage flooded through him, filling him with aggressive power.

He would kill ever Darkspawn there if he had to. They would all die before he burned their bodies alive.

The captain took the ship far from the coast. Pirates were frequent along the coast these days. The nations of Thedas concentrated their efforts inland these days due to the Darkspawn. They cared little for their navies if not to transport troops quickly.

Still, as they sailed the Architect could see pillars of smoke in the distance. Once he spotted a fishing vessel so overcrowded with refugees that he wondered how it was that nobody fell out. Then he had discovered they were all dead, and that every single one had some kind of wound. Clearly it was the unawakened Darkspawn who had done this. With a fireball he had sent the vessel towards the sea floor. He did not know why he had done it. It served no purpose. But it seemed right.

The journey continued. The Architect was resting when The Scout contacted him trough the mirror he had gone to great difficulties to make.

"Kirkwall is under attack and the Wardens are fighting amongst themselves." He said. "Kirkwall will fall. The horde has taken Lowtown and scaled the stairs to Hightown. They cannot hope to win the battle."

"Let them be." The Architect said. "Do nothing. If the Commander dies then he was to weak anyway, and we will find another."

The Commander initiated the first attack before the Darkspawn horde could fully break through. The catapults on the top of the towers were launched after being loaded with flaming rocks. Archers were positioned in key places to release arrows upon arrows on the horde. Spellcasters of all levels were hidden among the ranks of the Warden to inflict damage at will upon the horde.

As for the Commander, he went straight into battle head on before anyone else even thought of it. His sword would gleam with the blood of the Darkspawn and they would know no mercy. They would all die.

"THEY WILL ALL DIE!!" The Commander raged out loud, as loud as he could, brandishing his sword before the battle would official begin...

The journey continued. They sailed farther and farther away from the shores of Ferelden. The captain had told him it would take months to reach the shores of Tevinter. He didn't have that time. So with his magic he had made sure the wind would always blow around the ship and he had told his mages to help the rowers with their magic.

But there were other problems. Such as pirates.

Just an hour ago a pirate ship had been spotted. Then another, and another. The Architect did not wish to cause more death. But if the pirates attacked he knew he would have to.

Mark pointed to a point in the army largely un-protected, Mathayus looked and saw the point of what Mark had wanted him to see, A lone man on a hill still as still...

Jogging they veered off to the Trees behind the Army, these Darkspawn were going to Die.

They were coming closer and closer now. The Architect could now count five ships following them. Small quick sloops. Despite their best efforts they could not outrun them. Soon they would be within bow range. The guards on the ship had already readied the balista onboard. ready to fight until the end. The pirates were no longer content with just taking the good of a ship. Nowdays, a crewman had told him, they sold the entire crew into slavery and took the ship for themselves. Or simply killed the crew. He wasn't about to let that happen.

The Commander saw red, literally. Blood was flowing in rivers around him as he cut his way through every Darkspawn that crossed his path. His armor protected him from the few attacks that were unblockable, even by his skills.

Deftly the Commander darted in and out of the close ranks of the incoming Darkspawn, lobbing off heads with swift, powerful strokes of his blade. Other Darkspawn he merely cut off arms or legs...sometimes torsos.

Bodies fell in mounds and piles behind him and the other Wardens, but they were still outnumbered.

Fury once again surged through the Commander as he watched more and more of his Grey Warden fighters fall beneath the sheer numbers. Only the best were still surviving and fighting.

With a quick bit of magic, the Commander caused the outer walls that had already been damaged by the initial attack by the Darkspawn to collapse upon the beasts.

The fight raged on...

Mathayus and his little Band Reached the Rear of the Army, Silently they started to hack their way towards the Focal point of the army where they were being controlled from...

He thought tightly to the Warden *if you catch this then Hold on for help is coming...* They progressed a fair way to the Uprising before the Darkspawn realized that there was an Enemy Cutting them down from behind.

As the Commander hacked his way through Darkspawn, he heard Mathayus's voice in his head....

If you catch this then Hold on for help is coming...

Raising his voice to be heard over the din of battle, the Commander yelled to the rest of the Grey Warden, "Fight with renewed vigor! The fight will be ours! There are more for us to fight along side!"

Mathayus grunted as he caught a blow on his shield, he arced his arm up and over his head releasing the shield into two Dark Spawn, he then grabbed his crossbow off this back and shot the enemy leader in the arm, dropping the cross bow he grabbed his axe and returned to hewing off enemy limbs as the army started to disintegrate while the leader was occupied with his arm.

The pirates released the first arrows. But they fell into the sea harmlessly twenty feet to the left of the ship. The archers on board the vessel was waiting for the pirates to close in further before they would release.

The Architect and his mages had a plan too. The elves and humans had convinced him not to destroy the ships and rather intimidate them to leave. They were readying themselves.

Suddenly the Darkspawn army lost all organization. They wavered quickly, and the fight began to change as the Warden were able to begin taking them out easier and quicker.

The Architect and four of his fellow mages created a spell around them that would allow them to breath underwater. The other would be putting up quit a show from the deck of the ship.

"Raise the Qunari flag" The Architect told the captain. Soon the Qunari flag was flying from the top of the great mast. "Dive" he said, and he and the others jumped into the ocean.

The Commander and the Wardens had gained the advantage....but only for a brief moment. Within minutes the Darkspawn had regained their composure, for lack of a better term, and were back on the offensive.

Looking around, the Commander could see the sea of Darkspawn greatly diminished. But the Grey Warden forces were still outnumbered nearly 2:1.

OCC: Mats...what type of super offensive magic am I allowed to use? If any, that is.

OOC: Depends on you. You could use blood magic. Boils living beings blood in their veins. You could throw them around using pure power, you could throw fireballs, freze them. Whatever you can think of really. But there is certain limits to how powerfull the spells can be. And to strenghten that you'd need to eighter draw on somebody else life force (blood) or deal with a demon or use large amounts of Lyrium.

IC: He dived deep down bellow the surface. He and the team began to move towards the five pirate ships which were gaining on their vessel.

The Architect could se several arrows sink towards the sea floor and guessed that the battle above the the water was ongoing.

When they were directly besides the ships they stopped, and waited for the signal.

OCC: Ah, yay. I just want to go a little crazy. But now I need to know, could I use Darkspawn blood to power up my spells? I'll post after I get an answer.

OOC: You could, I suppose. But bear in mind Dakspawn blood is rather corrupted and dangerous in its very nature. Also, to use blood to power your spells you have to be in contact with the blood you draw power from. Also, blood magic is feared and hated by many, all nations in Thedas forbids the use of it. Mages using blood magic are normally killed. Exceptions are made only for The Grey Wardens.

OCC: Alright, that's not to bad. And I am in contact with a ton of Darkspawn blood currently Razz

IC:

The Commander decided to try something he had never tried before, not like this anyways.

The next Darkspawn he killed, or rather the next five, he piled them up and opened them up, to let the blood flow freely.

He began to prepare himself.

OOC: Oh, and blood magic requres training. Which is hard to come by. Most blood mages deal with demons to learn it.

IC: The signal came. A sound so loud he heard it even underwater.

At that moment all five of them released their magic. They each sent a fireball straight towards the surface. Sending an explotion of water and fire towards the sky.

The Architect returned to the surface to see if it had worked.

It had. The pirates looked scared beyond their wits. With fear in his voice he heard the captain yell. "QUNARI, FLEE! TURN THE SHIPS!"
